I took these photos when it was in the 20’s during the daytime here in Seattle, but thankfully it’s back up to high 30’s now! Needless to say, it’s been cold and layering has been essential for me.
I’m actually wearing five layers in this look, but notice how only three are visible. In order from bottom to top: an undershirt, the gray long-sleeve top, a knit cardigan for extra warmth that I tucked in slightly, the flannel, and finally the jean jacket. I like to keep my looks simple without looking too bulky, but still warm. What I think works and looks best when layering is making the second to last piece, in this case the flannel, slightly longer and larger than the final piece, in this case the denim jacket. This way, you get the layered look while letting both pieces shine.
Layering is something I’ve always struggled with but I feel like the cold weather has forced me to slowly get better at it 🙂 Let me know what you think!
